To help improve fundraising capacity
Arts Council England have recently announced the 173 successful applicants to their £30 million Catalyst Arts: capacity building and match funding scheme. Canterbury Festival are delighted to be one of them and will receive £187,000 over the next three years on the condition that we find match funding of the same amount. This money, and the money that we raise, will enable us to develop our fundraising abilities, increase our artistic offering and help to bring a new Festival venue to Canterbury in 2013 and 2014. Viennese Chamber Concert
Continuing their Golden Jubilee celebrations, Canterbury Christ Church University will be hosting an evening of chamber music by Mozart and Beethoven. 'Viennese Conversations' offers a snapshot of chamber music, played on period instruments, giving an insight into the sound world of classical chamber music as imagined by the composers themselves.

Notes from the Past & the USO Dance Party
The Urban Soul Orchestra will be performing at two events at the Faversham Festival. The first will showcase music written at the time of key events in Faversham’s history, connecting the colourful characters and moments of Faversham’s past to memorable musical pieces (expect an eclectic mix of Baroque-to Bar-rock, Classical to The Clash and Folk-lore to Film-score). Then in the evening, the party really starts with the USO Dance Party featuring VJ Marc Chazot and DJ Jack Dedman.
